STA Educator Earns Statewide Award

Summit Technology Academy Environmental Sciences teacher, Kaitlin Edwards was just named one of Missouri’s Outstanding Beginning Teachers by the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Every two years, the association honors exemplary first and second-year teachers from pre-K through 12th grade across the state for their work with students.

CyberPatriot State Competition

LSR7 CyberPatriot teams achieved incredible results in the State Round of the CyberPatriot Competition. Five high school teams and four middle school teams participated.

CyberPatriot is a national youth cyber education program created by the Air Force Association. It focuses on inspiring students toward careers in cybersecurity, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The program includes the CyberPatriot National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, where teams of students act as IT administrators to secure virtual networks and systems against simulated cyber threats. Through hands-on experience, students develop critical skills in cyber defense, teamwork, and problem-solving.

High School Highlights:

  •  1st Place (Platinum Division)
  •  3rd Place (Platinum Division)
  •  2nd Place (Gold Division)

One high school team has advanced to the Semi-Finals Round!

Middle School Highlights:

  •  2nd Place: Summit Lakes Middle School
  •  3rd Place: East Trails Middle School

All four middle school teams are advancing to the Semi-Finals Round. These outstanding teams will represent LSR7 in the Semi-Finals Round on January 25, 2025.
